Duncan, Sara Jeannette (1861-1922).
Periodista y novelista canadiense en lengua inglesa, nacida en Brantford, Ontario, en 1861 y muerta en Inglaterra en 1922.
Como periodista, trabajó en Post entre 1885 y 1886, en Globe entre 1886 y 1887, en Montreal Star entre 1887 y 1888 y en The Week. Vivió durante mucho tiempo en Calcuta y en Simla, y viajó con frecuencia a Londres.
Sus artículos periodísticos tratan de cuestiones políticas, sociales y culturales. Su primer libro, A social departure: how Orthodocia and I went round the world by ourselves (1891), contiene varios artículos unificados por la invención de un narrador; le sigue An American girl in London (1891), una colección de escritos presentados como una novela.
De su producción novelística, conviene destacar A daughter of to-day (1894), The simple adventures of a memsahib (1893), The imperialist (1904), Set in authority (1906), The burnt offering (1909), His royal happiness (1914), Title clear (1922) y The gold cure (1924).
Además, escribió dos obras autobiográficas: On the other side of the latch (1901) y Two in a flat (1908).
